I know, I know - it's too early to be asking about this but I'm wondering if anyone knows the time line for SMOE to begin asking NET's or the schools they work in if people want to resign for March? When, theoretically, are contracts usually signed, sealed and delivered?

I was talking with my headteacher this afternoon and he said the powers-that- be will be making decisions on all re-hires in January/February. One issue I have is that I'll be taking 16 days of my remaining vacation time in February so it would be good to know long before then if I'm rehired. I also think I'd have to make plans to use the interim 10 days between contracts?

I might mention that everything seems fine (wouldn't be the first time I've been fooled here though!). I recently had a great teacher evaluation and was told I actually scored higher than some of my Korean co-teachers. All things appear to be a green light.......

Thanks for any ideas.

I think around November is around the time when they start inquiring.

Thanks.
I'm looking at the new hurdles for renewing contracts here (immigration). This doesn't give a lot of time when you consider that the FBI CBC's can take 2-3 months. This could hurt people in the pocket when you consider how expensive last minute flight changes can add up!

i'm wondering the same thing! we just got a new VP and P...so i'm not sure how to bring it up.

i know that we now need an FBI check but we don't need all the other documents to get an extension correct?

in theory it's possible to do without leaving korea--or am i terribly confused (normal)?

Yes, I think you can do everything - with hassles w/o leaving Korea......

I've brought up the resigning issues with my school and while they are positive in general there's a tendency for them to be a bit laid back in the planning area.....I'm being nice about this. Confused

I need to re-read the E2 thread and start the process.

One tactic would be to get the documents ready over the next week and in the mail about 10/01. Assuming things get stamped in 4-7 weeks or so, your CRC will be good well past the contract start date of 3/1/11 or available for whatever opportunity arises.

I think getting the paperwork in the pipeline early can only serve you well no matter what happens after the new year. One issue that popped into my brain this afternoon was that I'm supposed to take 15 or so days of remaining vacation in February (not to mention the 10 days allotted in between contracts?). I'd like to be out of the country not sitting around waiting for FedEx to pull up......

I did see they changed the HIV policy for E2's. Maybe they bowed to pressure?
