Has anyone worked in any of the Berlitz schools in Seoul? I think there are about 5 different schools. I am trying to get some information on them and was wondering if anyone knew anything. Thanks for any and all the help! |

In general the system is repetition based. You have the class repeat over and over simple sentences and you point to things. In Italian, the instructor walked through the door and introduced the word. We practiced with the word using "the dog walked in the door" "Did the cat walk in the door" etc. They introduce grammar points and conjugation in a similar way. All Berlitz schools should function in the uniform way. In Korea is this true??? |

One of my co-workers worked for them. From the stories I have heard, I wouldn't even think about working there. What kind of details are you after. I can ask him. I can assure you that you won't like what the answer is though. |

hi. I'm looking through old posts. Can someone direct me to more information about this company in Korea? They seem pretty desperate to hire ASAP. It makes me curious when people are willing to hire without hardly even an interview. |

I would guess that they'd be better to work for than most Korean franchises. They are international and really do have a long reputation to consider. I worked for them in Poland. They do have their own methodology. But you'll also get hogwan owners here who have their own personal methodology (which likely has never been proven to produce any positive results) that the foreign teachers will have to follow. |

The pay and conditions at Berlitz are terrible, the management is brutal - avoid. |

If they're anything like Berlitz in North America and the Middle East, I'd avoid them like the plague. They have a reputation for treating their employees like slaves. |

Audio Lingual approach. Based on Behavourism.BF Skinner I bet they use Side by Side. Which is based on the idea of Substitution drilling. |

I'm considering a contract with Berlitz at the moment actually, I've had little luck elsewhere so I'm thinking about taking it just for the one year to get myself started |
