Ive heard the maximum legal limit for transporting pesos to the Philippines is 10,000. Is this true? Is it enforced? Or should I just take what I think I'll need for my trip next week?

Also, do you think I'll get ripped off on the exchange rate if I go and do out at an exchange outlet in Busan rather than a major bank?

The limit for importing cash (peso) is p10,000 per person and US$10,000 per person in the form of other currencies.

It is unlikely that you would be checked by customs (inbound) but in the event that you are you will lose it.

It is far better to just take your 5-10k in pesos and a few USD$100 notes and save yourself the pocket space and the worry. You can exchange US$ EVERYWHERE and Ben Franklin's get the best exchange rates.

I am pretty sure you can do that at a KEB or at the airport.

buy your pesos in the philippines. Ask hotel or someone best place to exhange. Airport and banks will rip you off. SM mall is not too bad a place to exchange either.
