Im planning on leaving Korea on Nov 2nd but I'm not sure whether I'm going to China, Mexico or the UK. When I booked my flight here it was really late (about a week before I left the UK and the travel agent made some noise abpout it being difficult) so I'm wondering, when do prices on long haul flights normally go up and should I just decide what I'm doing really quickly or hold out until I can be sure I'm making the right decision? |

google itasoftware matrix.
You can search by flight prices by calendar day and it will tell you which days of the month flights are the most expensive. |

November is off-season.
It goes to shoulder around Nov. 29 and peak travel from Dec 12-Jan 15.
It shoulders again from Jan 15-March 7 and then goes low again until the summer season.

What does 'goes to shoulder' mean? It goes up in price? |

Goes to shoulder as in 'goes to the shoulder of the road', as in 'pulling over', offside, off the main throughway come to a halt. Not moving, tickets aren't moving, aren't being purchased. That's my guess. And that's without considering the 'cold shoulder' possibility. |

Goes from off season to the shoulder of the peak season and yes, the price rises.
You get the highest prices in the Peak season and then starts to fall off again on the shoulder headed for the low season.
Shoulder is the mid-range of the price points between low and peak.

I think you'd have a good chance of getting last minute tickets to China, London or LA with either of the korean airlines. YOu'll probably pay a fair bit more if you book within two weeks of departure. It's kind of a crapshoot, so start monitoring airline webpages and see when they start November promotions.
Typically, in the west it is cheaper to buy way in advance, but in Korea travel agents don't seem to know prices more than a month in advance. |
