I might be going to Daejeon with UEC.

Does anyone out there have any advice or recommendation about the place or the company ?

Taejon/Daejon is a pretty decent city, especially the northern end of the city, near KAIST. It has a lot of open spaces, green grass and trees. Taejon is not an industrial city, so the air is not as polluted as some of the other cities.

It has a population of something over a million. It's being considered as the next administrative capital of the country.

It's mainly known for Taedok, "Science Town"; it's an area of research centers. This brings the city a higher than average population of Ph.Ds. I know it is trying to add more culturally oriented services, but I can't say how much they have succeeded.

It's central location makes getting to other parts of the country quite easy.

As far as I know, there are foreigner hangouts in both Koong-dong (in the north between Chungnam National University and KAIST) and downtown.

I enjoyed my time in Taejon.
