I'm calling them bubble flip-flops cuz I don't know what else to call them... haha. Anyways I'm sure you've all seen them; they seemed to be a big trend this summer (basically thongs decorated with little plastic sea creatures and fake-grape-like plastic bubbles).

I really want a pair but no one seems to be carrying them anymore! Any ideas on who might have a stash of these hidden away? Dongdaemun?

Some of the subway station shops still have them on sale for 5k or so. I was thinking of getting a pair to send to my little sis for giggles.

Yeah, I totes saw them at EVERY shoe store in the undergrounds. Also, I think I saw them at similar cheap stores on the fringes of markets. When I saw them back in June, I pointed them out to my husband as I was aghast at just how ugly they are. About a month later I started seeing actual human beings wearing them. This was particularly shocking because the nature of most mammals is to avoid things that are unattractive for breeding purposes.

If you do find them, be sure to take a pic for ifshoescouldkill.com

Yeah at the beginning of summer they were everywhere but now they're gone. Maybe they were just a summer fad.

I thought they were kinda cute in a bizarre way Laughing
