I worked in a door factory. That was pretty bad.
I had to turn over every second board and pass it on to the next person. * hours a day. lasted a month. But man were my forearms were rock at the end |

Soul Sucking indeed! I realised that men needed to exercise, hunt and kill things and not have a slimy power-crazed boss breathing down your neck for 8 hours a day. |

I actually knew a guy who briefly worked in a slaughterhouse whose position was the "asshole-bagger".
Or of course the classic: porno theater janitor. |

| Rent a Cop/Security Guard with Burns. Get lots of reading done. Get very little respect. The only power you really have is the ability to phone the police and everyone else knows that. The worse thing about this job is the pay. It's almost nil. |

Let's see:
- Fish Gutter: (trawler in the tropics).
- Nurseryman: pulling juvenile trees out of the ground (while slithering in knee high mud).
- Box Manufacturer: making apple boxes from wood dripping with god knows what preservative (probably arsenic).
- Vegetable Picker: (in tropical Queensland) bending and slaving (at speed) in 38 deg C heat).
- Builder's Laborer (see Vegetable Picker) and include digging ditches with a spade.
- Fencer: digging post holes - stringing wire fences on steep muddy hillslides (in days of pouring rain).
- Fishing Guide: standing in ice cold water up to your armpits all day (but hey, that was the best 'job' on earth). No kidding.
- Bank Teller: (on social security pay days).
- TEFL 'Teacher' at a Korean hagwon (enough said).
- GET for EPIK: being paid 23 - 40 hours p/w to deskwarm / study /surf the internet etc). Yeah - that's a terrible job. |

One of the worst jobs is def- telemarketing. I listened to my dad scream at people who were given a job to do, call this phone number and ask questions. No need to be rude, just hang up. Not to mention I went ahead and did it- calling people outside of the States was a real treat: they were polite and courteous! Thanks UK! |

| I saw a TV show on this theme. One guy had to 'arouse' farm animals so they could extract their baby-gravy. I bet he wished he'd listened to the teachers. |

| Prior to coming to Korea I was an investigator for Child Protective Services. It was my job to investigate reports of child abuse/neglect, and when necessary, remove a child from a home. After some of the things I witnessed, I would have gladly traded that job for any of those previously posted in this thread. You'd think in a job like that you'd be in a position to do a lot of good, but it was really just full of heartbreaks. |

The worst job in the world is the one which you are doing now and hate.
So that would be English Teaching for many people on this board judging by the large amount of negativity on Dave's. |
