Finally got my first contract sorted a day or so ago, been talking to a really nice bloke called Alistair. He let me know by email that I'd been accepted and he sent over the contract and all the details, everything going smoothly.

Wake up this morning to an email telling me that he's really sorry but I haven't been chosen for the school.

Then I realized there were two different Alistairs. Quite thankful that I decided to hold off on sending that abusive reply afterall :P

Alistair's a very nice English man, but is a recruiter; not your dad getting you a guaranteed job in the family business. I guess he finds jobs for some other people since he's in the business of doing just that. I liked his, "positive can do, let's go with it," attitude. He had 2 emails for me, but informed me of rejection in the other email we didn't normally communicate with. Good on OP he's paying attention.

Alistair from KoreanHorizons is the one that emailed to let me know there wasn't a position available- Good of him from for at least letting me know, other recruiters have left me hanging.

The other Alistair was from Berlitz, the place seems to have a bit of a bad rep on here but he seems like a decent guy.

Ah. If it was for Incheon, the reason there weren't an openings is because the off-peak openings that were anticipated fell through. Everyone renewed that could.
