I've been checking the online shops and naver.com, but I can't find any information on buying one of these tablets outright. Does anyone have any info on availability and pricing?

Cheers.

You can't find them because neither one is available yet. The Galaxy Tab doesn't even have a Korean release date announced yet. So far all we've heard is "late 2010". The Identity tab is in a similar situation, but most people think it will be coming first. I read an article yesterday claiming that it was coming "after Chuseok", but who knows if that means the week directly after or if it will be longer than that.

As for pricing... They're both going to be sold with 2-year contracts for data service. The Identity from KT and the Galaxy from SK. Neither one will be available in a "wifi only" version like the ipad has. If you want to buy one outright without a contract I would expect them to both be expensive.

They will be able to use regular wifi, of course, but you won't be able to buy one that uses wifi only. They're going to push the 3G data plans hard and make it really expensive to get one without a contract.

Why would someone want the WiBro service? I'm not saying it's bad, as I don't know too much about it, I'm just not sure if it is worth 27K/month.

I've read that WiBro has a much longer range and you can be mobile while using it, but how pervasive is it in Korean cities? For instance, can I walk around anywhere in Busan without losing a signal? That could be rather cool as I believe wifi is limited to certain hotspots like cafe's and campuses.

Further, the augmented reality seems awesome if the signal is constant.

I did test drive of KT identity tab yesterday at KT store. The one that I tested didn't have English interface. Two managers were trying to switch it from Korean to English without any success.

Do you have any links about Galaxy Tab ?

Did you price it while you were there?
