Just wondering if anyone has had their visa interview with the Korean Embassy in Dublin recently. Mine is coming up in a few days and am wondering what kind of questions they ask you and how long does it take for them to send back your passport? |

I had one last year, and the extent of it was: fill this form out, and give us some money. It took three or four days to get my passport back. |

Do they tell you at the interview that your visa has been approved or do you just have to wait? I need to book a flight soon before they get expensive and don't want to book it before I get my visa just in case they refuse the visa for some reason. |

No, why? Do you not need to have a job first before you apply for your first E-2 visa as it's employer sponsored? |

I had my interview in the Dublin embassy back in May. It's short, maybe 10-15 minutes. They will just ask why you decided to go to Korea, where will you be working, who interviewed you.. etc. They pretty much just check that you're not going to rape and pillage and that your not mental.
It takes 3-4 days before you can pick it up again as long as nothing goes wrong. When I had mine I had the interview on the Friday, picked up my passport on Wednesday and flew out to Korea on the Friday. If your timescales are as short as mine were wait until you have the visa in hand before you book your flight incase something does go wrong. If you have a few weeks before you leave then you are likely safe to book away. Where in Korea are you heading to?
They will tell you when you can pick it up so pretty much they tell you there and then that everything is fine. |
