We were at E-Mart today and we noticed a small booth near the bakery section where they were selling 11,500 won pizzas. You have to place orders and it takes about 20 minutes, but the pizzas are the same size as Costco pizzas.

I do have to note that, just like Costco, the pizzas are offered in three flavors, (the same 3 as Costco), and you do have to place orders, but many Korean shoppers paid little attention to the pizzeria, and the bakery seemed to do better business.

In the order of experimentation, and to help many of you (like you ever show any gratitude Laughing ), and to see for ourselves, my BF and I ordered two E-Mart bulgogi pizzas and this is what we found.
1) It took about 20 minutes for the pizzas to be ready.
2) The smell of the hot pizza is very nice and many shoppers around us noticed it, especially when we were in the checkout line.
3) It is the same size as the Costco pizzas and the same toppings are offered. We think that this proves that E-Mart knows that Costco is using the Costco food court to win customers. We (the posters here) know that, but many Korean shoppers may not know that Costco has a food court with many good food options at low prices.
4) The E-Mart bulgogi pizza is very good. It has onions, bulgogi, and peppers and spices. For the average price of pizza in Korea, it is a great deal at 11,500 won. BUT, the Costco bulgogi pizza is better. Since most people are closer to E-Marts than Costcos, this will probably not matter. The E-Mart 11,500 won bulgogi pizza is a good deal and it tastes very good. But the Costco 12,500 won pizza is better.
5) One more thing to note for those who have never bought a pizza at E-Mart but would consider it after reading this thread. First you order the pizza, then you come back to get it, after about 20 minutes. It is sealed shut with tape. If you are smart, you should open the box and check it is the pizza you ordered. They will put more tape on the box. Just check your pizza to be sure it is what you ordered. We did this and there was no problem. We did see some other customers take their pizza boxes without checking their orders. Frankly, I wouldn't recommend that. The E-Mart pizza section was very busy and you should check your pizza to be sure you got what you ordered. Don't let a couple pieces of tape prevent you from doing this.
6) We enjoyed our pizza from E-Mart. We suggest that everyone at least try it, if they get a chance.

At my local E-mart, they sell individual slices for 2500 and they are pre-made. They also sell the whole pizza if you order in advance, but I've only tried the slices and they were pretty good. They were a big greasier than Costco, but seemed less doughy. Not bad at all.

I don't mind the E-mart pizza, but the one near me is more than 2500 a slice or 11,500 a pie. Unless something has changed in the last 2 weeks.

They will never beat Costco unless they start offering plates of onions with mustard and ketchup to keep the peasants happy.

I can't resist the urge to add this to the OP's composition on Emart pizza:

"In conclusion, Emart pizza is good."

The End.

Laughing Yeah, it ended up sounding like a presentation. Two friends were standing behind me as I was typing and they kept giving me details to add.

BTW, it's 8 slices for 11,500 if you buy a pizza at E-Mart.

Frozen pizza imported from Italy in the Emart freezer.

I think its better than most fresh pizza made in Korea.

So are they busy or not busy?

Also, is it Korean pizza (corn, sweet etc.)

I don't see what the big deal is about Costco pizza. Sure, it lacks corn and ridiculous toppings, the 'crust' is a big dough ball in the mouth.

Sure they weren't remarking how the pizza was attributing to the size of your waistline and the unhealthy diets that westerners lead in general?

First a Costco pumpkin pie thread and now pizza. Whatever floats your boat.

It's very small with just one oven. Most Korean shoppers walked by it and took little notice, but the ones that did order placed orders for many pizzas. So the two adjoshis taking oders and making pizzas were very busy.

I'll share information about any good deal I see. Hopefully you'll do the same.

I would hate to see the food court if Koreans do discover it! Although if that's true, I would invest heavily in onions.

Better than Korean pizza? There's nowhere to go but up.

I find soju's posts quite informative and appreciate them.

They might be more humorous if he went third person. For example:

Sojusucks found the bulgogi pizza not quite as good as Costco's, but his girlfriend couldn't taste any difference.

Talking about yourself in the third person shouldn't be just for famous athletes.

Flakfizer agrees.
