| If you are able, I would definitely suggest taking it in person. Like I said one of my docs was wrong, and it saved a lot of time having them tell me on the spot what needed to be fixed... |

| Sorry, the answer is I took it in person, and left a return express mail envelope. I got it within three business days If I had all the paperwork correct in the first place and if I was able to stay in town, I could have gotten it the next day though... |

| I took it directly to the consulate. One of my documents were wrong. It was for my mother instead of me, so I had my uncle in Korea get a new one in my name and they emailed it to me. I emailed it to the consulate on a Friday before a three day weekend, and I got my visa back the next Wednesday. I didnt have to submit anything from my parents. I could have gotten it directly from the consulate earlier, but I was out of town working... |
I spoke with the consulate in Atlanta to get a second opinion and they told me the exact same thing as the Seattle consulate. The parents having to be american citizens is a new korean law that went into effect this past May 2010. So it looks like I'm SOL on that front. 710, when did you apply for your F4? |

Are you sending your docs in?
If you can I would take them in person, they can let you know if you have anything missing there.
Hopefully you will get a nice person like I did She took all of my paperwork, explained what was wrong and let me email the corrected form, instead of taking everything with me and having to bring it all back... |

Let me ask you guys another question.
What are the main differences between the F4 and E2?
I know the F4 allows you to stay past a year and that some jobs require an F4. But other than that, are there any other benefits to the F4?
I'm starting to think it will be alot easier to just get sponsorship from a recruting firm and get an E2.
Have you guys used any recruting firms? |

This is how I understand it...
가족 관계 증명서: about family
기 본 증명서: about self
제적등본: about family tree |

Reasons why I got mine:
1. I can teach private lessons if I choose
2. Less stringent about the documents (e.g. I didnt need a contract to get it)
3. I wont be as chained or subservient to the school
4. When I get a contract, I can go immediately without having to go through the E-2 process
5. I was tired of waiting around doing nothing, so I decided to do what I could to improve my chances... |
