ok, for any canadians, specifically fellow quebeckers/quebecois out there, you can get a decent poutine here!!!
how exciting is that???

it's at the new york fries (which is actually candian btw) on, or near rodeo drive. sorry i can't remember exactly where, just wander around the area behind cine city till you find it.

anyway, it's awesome! oh yeah, if you want the good spices (california/cajun) you have to ask for them, they don't leave them out. poutine is 4,2000 won and fries are cheaper!

I think the usual spelling is "poontang." But what's the connection to french (freedom) fries? Have I been missing something, or is that a Canucklehead thing? Razz

Poutine is Canadian junk food. Fries, cheese curds and gravy.

It's not California style poutine, it's just a spice that that chain happens to have for the fries.

Poutine was originally created in the Canadian province of Ontario, next to the province of Quebec, where later French Canadians took to it like maple syrup on crapes suzette!

It was not created in Quebec though the separatist propaganda of Quebecois nationalists has perpetuated a number of falsehoods on the topic.

I brought cans of poutine sauce back from Canada though, when I explain what it is and show the picture on the label, all I get is a collective Shocked Shocked Shocked .

Poutine was a popular snack of us West Coast kids back in the eighties when we were at the video arcades playing that new game called "Donkey Kong".

Where the heck is it in apkujong exactly? (also, where's apkujong?)

You may love it (I like it myself), but deep-fried potatoes covered in gravy and melted cheese do not constitute a healthy meal, nor are they part of any food pyramid of which I'm aware. Wink

You should go to Kraze burger joint in Chundam-dong, near Designers Club / Cinecity. Nice.

Poutine IS the food pyramid: vegetable, milk product, meat product, only the shape is more round, in the midsection.
