Bit disturbing, was out and about in P.N.U (best area of SK IMO) at about 6:45 and popped into a hairdressers, they said no and pointed to their watches.
Fine, it's fairly late, no problem. Went to another place, same thing.
Went for some food and a couple of drinks, came back past at about 9PM and they were both still open
Was there a reason for this other than racism? Am I just being paranoid? |

You might need an appointment.
They were booked until close.
Their watches were all broken and they were asking you what time it was.
You misread the sign and instead walked into a watch store.
They wanted to trade watches.
They wanted to synchronize their watches with you so you could join their spy club.
I'm out.... |

They didn't seem to keen on offering me an appointment, they kind of just ushered me out. |

They probably don't speak English and were too nervous to try to ask you to make an appointment. Even those that can speak a little English are often too embarrassed to try (especially in front of other Koreans).
I assume that you don't speak Korean. Try asking a coworker how to say "Can I make an appointment?" And walk back in and ask (bring a picture of the hair style you want). If they tell you to leave, then they are racist. If they help you, then chalk it up to mis-communication. |

A hair salon in our neighborhood changed owners a couple months ago and the new owner refuses to cut waygook hair as well.
My guess is that it less "racism" and more "fearing the foreigner"....but it is still annoying because now we all have to go to another shop that is much further away. |

I bet he'd cut my hair.
Take a shower, exchange your Teva's for some real shoes, your gf's moo moo for a real dress and I'm sure his attitude will change. |

That's it, there's too much racism in this country! I'm packing my bags and leaving!
I suggest everyone do the same. You have until you need your next haircut to decide. |

All of the foreigners who used to frequent the salon were subsequently shooed away by the new owner.
Your assessment of me is WAY off the mark....out of curiosity, where did you come up with these assumptions from? The fact that I don't like the way animals are treated in Asia? Surely I must be a dirty hippy to care about such trifle nonsense. |
