Korean culture is unique in this way:

Homeshopping lingerie models = must be foreigners

taking a photo of an attractive Korean woman in public = sexual assault (this is real. People are arrested and prosecuted every year for taking pictures of Korean women on the beach)

...and there are certainly other examples

It's remarkable that provocative images of Korean women are considered taboo, unless there is some sort of Pop music playing in the background.

Yes!

It is the only way for Korean women. No other options exist. Even worse, they are forced to do this through pop and should they dare express it in other ways, government vans take them away for re-training.

Have you watched Cable TV in Korea? They have porn on after 12am. It is all Korean stuff. Plus I saw some

I just cannot agree with you that K-pop is the only place they get to take their clothes off or mostly off in p[ublic. Movies, TV, Go to any party district on a Weekend night, go to the beach in summer.

It is the same as the West in my opinion.

I went to a public art exhibition in a cafe the other day and they were all upset about female nude charcoal drawings.

More expression of sexuality is good. Not enough sexuality in the deep south for my taste.

Sad

Anyone been to the "*beep* museum" (actual name unknown) on the old highway on the way to Seoraksan? It's a rest stop run by some guy who has been carving erotic images (mostly penises with some females and female body parts as well) for a couple decades at least judging from the number of phalli about. There's a giant, pink, concrete one out front, balls and all. I've got a great picture of three female friends from a few years back sitting on it.
