For those of you who are familiar with the online TESOL certificate courses available online by LinguaEdge, is there really much of a benefit to taking the 150-hour online TESOL Certificate Course over that of the 100-hour online one?
Does the 50 additional hours of material offered by the 150-hour online course make that much of a difference when it comes to real world classroom teaching here in Korea? Or does the 100-hour online course do a good enough job for prospective ESL instructors/or those wanting to sharpen their ESL teaching skills and the 50 additional hours offered by the 150-hour online course is just gravy?
The cost for either of the 2 courses is not the problem for me, but time certainly is because I work 50-hours a week. If it really makes that much of a difference, I am willing to finish the 150-hour one in 6 months, but if there is little real world difference (in terms of results) between that and the 100-hour one, then I feel like saving a lot of my valuable time and go with the 100-hour one.
Here is a detailed comparison of both LinguaEdge online courses:

If you are just talking about working in Korea, the 100 hour course is adequate.
It will give you the basics and meet the requirements asked for by government programs for the pay/grade bump if that is your desire.
Without a supervised practicum I can see no appreciable difference in the two programs (at least none to warrant one over the other) for a job in Korea.

Both the 100-hour course and the 150-course offer an optional 20-hour teaching practicum for an additional $99.
To add to my original question, is there really a difference between a 150-hour course + teaching practicum over a 100-hour course + teaching practicum in developing ESL teaching mastery here in Korea, or does the 100-hour course + teaching practicum do the job while the 50 additional hours required by the 150-hour course + teaching practicum is just gravy? |

IF your plan is to stay in Korea then the 100 hour course without the practicum is "adequate".
If you plan to go elsewhere then the 100 + the practicum meets the "standard" 120 hours that is usually required by employers elsewhere (outside of Korea and when a TESOL certification is required).
If you are looking for some "gravy", then do the 150 hour program and add the "supervised practicum".
If you really want "gravy" then look at the DELTA. Most of it can be done by distance.
