I'm trying to see what I'll need for going to Korea and was wonderin is there anything you wish you brought with you that would have made teaching classes easier e.g. laminated pictures, a book of class activites etc. |

I've read several places to bring stickers. I'm bringing the smelly stickers that say, "Good job", etc.
Several people I've been in contact with say that they school provides everything; not to bring anything. I've heard that before I started teaching in the U.S. as well and now have enough stuff in my garage to teach several classes.
If one has never taught before, they may not be aware of things they could have that would make teaching easier or more convenient.
Hoping you get replies, I am interested in this as well. |

I have only found black, blue, red and puke-y green whiteboard markers in Korea.
I wish I had brought more Expo markers:

I use them sparingly, but the orange and purple can really jazz up a presentation, sometimes.
I had an opportunity, before leaving my home town to come to Korea, to cheaply print out full-page color photographs taken from my camera. These have come in handy many times. |

This may be a really dense question, but what are the photographs of? |

Stickers are a good motivator for younger students.
A foam or soft ball that can be thrown indoors safely. (great for playing a pass it around the room kind of game, or just throw it to the student and when he catches it, he has to answer a question and throw it back...anything to get them moving around and motivated to actually do something that is actually mundane)

Pictures you can usually find on the web. Stickers you can buy here, but the kids would think it is cool to have some "American" (or where ever your from) ones. |

Family and friends, individually and in groups, in different activities.
jrwhite82 is correct that pictures can be found on the web. In the rural Korean town where I teach, I do not have convenient access to a color printer and there have been occasions that I was glad I brought my color printouts with me. |

True. The places I've worked have always had TV's/projectors in the rooms with internet connections, but that isn't the case everywhere.
OP, ask your school what kind of tech they have in their rooms and then decide if you should bring them or not. They do make for useful teaching tools and conversation starters. The kids are usually interested in hearing stories about your life too and is a great way to get them involved in class. |

Menu's from different kinds of Restaurants. A North American Sushi bar with pictures or Korean resturant would be good.
Numerous copies of full colour subway maps would be nice. These would have to be laminated of course. |

I was just about to say that! You can't buy it here as far as I'm aware. |

i'd love to have brought some cute already-made classroom decoration stuff since i've had a hard time finding it in english here (think felt boards for weather, dates, announcements). and also blue tack would've been really useful since my whiteboard isn't magnetized and tape is a pain to use.
but other than that, i guess it depends on where you're working. in seoul, you should be able to find most things or maybe your hagwon will have some teaching materials on hand for you (again, depends on the hagwon). |
