How do you recommend going about finding either a high school or university teaching position? |

A few ways:
Get some experience and make connections.
Have a masters or doctorate degree.
Be at the right place, at the right time.
I'd say there are other ways like using recruiters, answering ads on ESL cafe or the newspaper etc.
I thought you couldn't wait to get back home to a gov't job? |

So, ryleeys, are ya in or out of here?
Unis don't hire all the time, there'a big cycle for February that starts around...late November, early December and again in August, which I imagine starts around June. High schools and middle schools and elementary schools hire around December/January for positions starting in March.
Can't complain at all about these gigs. I found my uni job thru Dave's and my middle school one through a contact from Dave's. |

I'm just keeping my options open.
I can't believe I had to work 3 friggin' hours today. Apparently, all the hagwans in Icheon were closed today. Except my director tells me to come in and make up the three hours I missed on Friday because I was having migraine headaches (all of my classes were covered). I have a nice letter prepared in Korean (by a friend) requesting overtime pay for the hours that I worked in February. It sure as hell ain't gonna happen, but if that's the petty crap I'm gonna have to put up with now, I'm not doin' anything for this director anymore. |

Well you are new to Korea and don't have a master's?
Good luck on getting a highschool/university job. I would think:
Right place, Right Time would be probably be the most likely way you could score one of those jobs without the things they usually require. |
