So, I know all about how the 100th day of dating is a big deal and I need to get a nice gift. It's just a couple weeks away. However, after a bunch of searching I can't get much a very clear answer. I've heard about rings, but I don't think she'd like that nor is that something I want to do.

Anybody have any hints as to what to get?

She's not very traditional, but does appreciate some of that stuff, I think. She's lived abroad for a few years, and finds things like couple-wear to be cheesy.

Also, what about the 3-month anniversary? That's coming up very soon.

Thanks.

You do realize that the word anniversary means yearly, thus there is no such thing as a 100-day anniversary or a 3-month anniversary, right?

As to your question, it all depends on you and the girl. What was good for me probably won't work for you. Follow your gut.

All of my female students flaunt their 100 day rings, but it seems too much like an engagement ring to me, culturally speaking. Maybe you could spring for another piece of jewelry, like a necklace (are pearls popular here?), or a nice bracelet. Or even you want to go totally anti-culture, just take her out to a really nice dinner and give her a random gift (like a boxed DVD set or something like that).

Good luck.

More likely he's been single all his life.

cammon, guys. You're being too hard on him!

I'd give an intangible gift, something like sing her a song at Noraebang or the dinner suggestion was nice. Don't give jewelry. The relationship may not last.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I had been thinking about doing dinner and might go that route.

Any suggestions for a good place in Seoul? I'm clueless.

Also, I was thinking about some simple jewelry. I've never bought jewelry before, so I'm lost. How much does a pair of earrings cost for something nice but simple. Should I go to the jewelry shop; or somewhere else (dept store etc)?

Just had mine on Monday. Got her a necklace and took her to a restaurant in Gangnam. She was very appreciative.

Just treat it like it's her birthday, except without the cake. Jewelry is best bought in Jongno jewelry district/jewelry mall.
Pick a number you'd be willing to spend and poke around, find something that looks good - they'll wrap it. You're set!

No. It's a 100-day-iversary. An anniversary it is not.

Find out what the gf likes as far as jewelry. J. Estina can be found at the department stores, and that jewelry seems to be popular among Korean woman. The prices there are a tad expensive, but afordable. Earrings, necklaces and things can be had for 100,000-200,000 won.

If you got the cash, you could always throw down for some Silver jewelry at Tiffany's.

I ring seems little premature for a 100 day. Most Korean girls I've met don't really wear rings. They prefer earrings.
