Quest for Fire
Ghost Story

(My best bud and I snuck into those R-rated flicks when we were 12, and found them shocking, the former with all the grunting, and the sex, and the latter with the awesome nude body with the skull, and the kids drowning in the car! A scary couple of films for us then.)

First movie that came to my mind was "The Thing" as well. Kurt Russell, aliens, gore, Huskies, and best of all, Keith David.

And though it was made in 2000, America Psycho is a fantastic movie about the 80's.

I thought so at the time too! I was a huge Raul Julia fan. He won an Emmy and Golden Globe for later work, and a critics' award for the 80s movie The Kiss of the Spider Woman, but he never got an Academy Award and that is a bloody shame. A fine actor who took on challenging roles and nailed them.

I forgot about that. Laughing Michael Keaton in an early Tim Burton release. That character is exactly what any Bill Murray or Rodney Dangerfield fan would enjoy. And I certainly did!

Two tv shows that I liked in the 80's that are kind of a guilty pleasure now:

Riptide

Scarecrow and Mrs. King

Just always found myself watching those a lot back then.
