Being in Korea really does give lots of opportunities to see some pretty cool places.

What destinations do you reckon are must see places and are cheap to get to from here though?

There are a good number of budget airlines to choose from now with the Philippines and Japan all easily accessible for 150,000-300,000 won.

I think Mongolia on the train from China offers good value, Thailand flights can be had if you book in advance and also Japan is served well.

What airlines and destinations do you guys recommend?

exotic depends a lot on where you are from.

I hear the US is pretty exotic and easy to get to from Korea; the weirdness of southern Ca., the lights of Vegas, watch the human rights abuses and anti-war protests, etc.

Off season you get get flights for as little as 800k won return.

Thats true, I guess I'm thinking about places 3-5 hours away and under 500k.

Air Busan has returns to Fukuoka and Osaka from Busan for a little over 150,000 if your highly flexible (mid-week departures) booking in advance would get you a good price though.

Cebu Pacific Air has decent fares from Busan and Incheon to Manila and Cebu for about 270,000 when the promos are on.

Jeju Air has flights from Seoul to Nagoya for as low as 160,000! That's round trip too!

Its a bare bones airlines (one time the entertainment was rock, paper, scissors) but keep in mind its a short flight too

The problem with the cheap flights to Manila is that flying into Manila doesn't really help you. It's an expensive flight or a long trip on the ground to get anywhere worth going (Manila certainly isn't).

No it isn't. Domestic flights in the Philippines are cheap, often as low as $20 one way.

I do agree however that there is nothing in Manila worth staying for.

Look at a flight into Cebu if you want to head for the beaches (other than Boracay)

or if you want more "adult" Wink fun (like golf), fly into Clark.

I found plenty of adult fun in the clubs in Cebu.

i have photographed about 6 churches in manila and they are very beautiful.....i also spent a day photographing the most colorful jeepneys in manila........there are a couple of very large festivals in manila like the Black Nazarine and some of the Ati Atihan type parades that are good.......but overall for a big city Manila does not have much to see.....
