Hello all ~
I'm currently residing in the states, but I have an F2 visa. I will be applying for new positions soon. Therefore, I was wondering...do I need an criminal background check from the states? If so, I need to get it done soon. Thanks! |

| I know if you go for a public school job they will require it, the health check too. I'm not sure if you NEED it for a hagwon, but it wouldn't hurt to prepare it just in case. |

| It depends on the job really. A criminal background check is used to get an E2 visa. However some jobs may require you to get one. My main job required me to do a Korean background check, but none of my other jobs asked for anything. Working multiple part-time jobs is one of the main benefits of having an F class visa. |

| So with an F-2 visa, you can get teaching jobs without having to submit the documents they require for E-2 visa holders? And what about part-time jobs? What did they require that you submit? |

Not having to work at all was the best benefit I got out of my F-2.  |

My ARC and my bankbook is all I've ever had to submit for P/T jobs. |

| Pardon my ignorance, but how do you define part-time job in this case? Privates? Hagwon job with part-time hours? And did you need to submit E-2 like documents to get an ARC card? |

With an F2 you don't (shouldn't) need to submit any documents really. But, I guessnit depends on the job. I worked at an after school program that required a criminal background check and a health check. Part-time jobs require that you show up on time and stay for at least six months. |

Take a look a craigslist or worknplay.co.kr and you can get an idea of what part-time jobs are. They can be as much as a few hours a day to a few hours a week.
If you have an F2 visa, you should already have an ARC. You should have a visa in your passport and an identification card, which is your ARC. Did you get your F2 visa while in the states? If yes, then I didn't know that was possible, and I don't know if that changes anything. However, I would assume that if you don't have an ARC you would need to go to immigration here in Korea and get one. You will not be required to submit the same documents at an E2 visa. |

| I don't have an F-2 or E-2 visa right now. I worked for a couple years in Korea and now am going to return soon. I will be applying to get an F-2 visa soon. I just wanted to know what happens after I get it with relation to working. |
