Hi I was just wondering if anyone had experience with having luggage that is too big in size - I checked the size restrictions and my suitcase is super huge - it's about 10 inches over the limit.

Has anyone had a suitcase rejected? Would anyone recommend buying new suitcases or just going with my huge ones and hoping for the best?

They're not going to reject your luggage. The worst that will happen is that the airline will charge you an over-sized baggage fee. This ranges in price from $50 to $100 per bag.

I recently had an over-weight bag, I was charged $50 b/c it was an international flight (this was leaving the US). I'd say you should expect about the same.

Your oversize baggage presents a ripe opportunity for a money grab.

call the airline just to be sure they won't reject your bag...better safe than sorry. I think $50 is usually the standard charge for an overweight bag so it's probably the same for a overly large bag...but I would just check to make sure.

If it's close, Korean Air will probably let you slide. Couldn't say that about most other airlines.

In my experience, Asiana doesn't let you get away with anything.
