So, I've been teaching in Korea for going on to 3 years, and am going home in the summer for good. I'm just wondering if any of you fine teachers have any advice for a few questions I have:

Is it possible to make a good living teaching ESL back in Canada? Has anybody had any experience in this and could offer a few tips? Is teaching ESL in universities/colleges in Canada a viable option? I live in Vancouver, and because I did Asian Studies, which doesn't qualify as a "teachable" major, I can't teach high school back home. I don't really feel like going back to school just to get a History degree.

Are there comparable salaries to be had teaching in Canada with a master's in TESOL? Any ideas for resources I should be checking?

Thanks in advance!

Q1: Yes or No. Yes, if you have the proper creditials, but no if you don't.

Q2: Refer to Q1 & Q2.

Q3: Yes, viable. But unis/colleges require ESL related degree from a graduate school. Better if you have experience teaching at unis/colleges. Razz
