Hello!
Is there a western foods store or something in Busan? I live in a teeny-tiny town outside of Gimhae, where all I can get is white bread, white pasta, and white rice. I need oats! I need whole grains! And I need multiples of them! Mostly for a good diet but also for medical concerns (hypoglycemia).
Also, looking for cheese. CHEESE!
Any help is suuuper appreciated. And no, 'costco' is NOT helpful (don't have a membership). |

sorry, this isn't an answer to your question but does Gimhae have OK shopping? I guess you're having trouble finding healthful things to buy there..? I was considering a move there but.... |

http://www.ezshopkorea.com/ will deliver costco items to you, without you having to get a membership card. They are a little pricey though.
I buy porridge oats (oatmeal) off gmarket.co.kr - there is an English version of the site, but you need to input your search terms in Korean. It also requires a bit of trawling through. Oatmeal/oats would be 오트밀 |

Gimhae isn't too far away from some of the places. Shinsegae on line 2 has a good organic and import food shop on the food floor. The wine counter there, and also in the Lotte in Seomyeon, has some cheeses. Just be prepared to pay a little. Costco is also worth the trip if you are really hard up. Other than that, most of the good sized Home Plus and Emart shops have a lot available in terms of Western grub. Tous Les Jour and Paris Baguette shops also tend to have some half decent breads on sale. I really like the Walnut Rye or whatever it is called at Paris Baguette. |
