Awesome question.

Just two off the top of my head:

Just -- Radiohead
Livin on the Edge -- Aerosmith

Off the top of my head... "The Heimlich (?) Maneuver" by Interpol. "Cherry Lane" by Ryan Adams. "I Hear The Rain Fall" by Red House Painters (it fades out then comes back again... more of a false ending, I guess)

Depends. Do we mean 'complete' silence as in - extended silence, or just a 2 bar kick in? If so there are about 900,000 I can think of at the top of my head. Only a few with extended silences.

Freedom by RATM

Silence, then he whispers "Anger is a gift." This line is absent from the noraebangs in Korea.

There's a couple of tracks on the newest Portishead album that do this. I initially thought the MP3s I downloaded were bad, but I got the same thing with another download. They're more disorientating than dramatic though.

the Strokes 'last night' and 'hard to explain'. McLusky does it in a couple of songs too, but I can't remember their names. Trail of the Dead does it on 'Caterwaul'.

"Rime of the Ancient Mariner" - Iron Maiden. There's a few seconds of silence before the slow, spooky arpeggio part comes in. I find this section slightly boring, so I just skip ahead to the awesome guitar solos.

That Whitney Houston song from "The Bodyguard". All those divas seem to love finishing off their power ballads with a break of silence, followed by a single drumbeat, and the final chorus stepped up half an octave.
