Advice, information and general chat about the festival...

So there's a few good bands playing, mainly Massive Attack, Belle & Sebastian, Vampire Weekend and the Pet Shop Boys.

How is everyone getting to the festival? Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get there on the Friday from Busan after work?

For people who have been before, what's the general atmosphere like, and how is the camp site?

I notice it is sponsored by the same company (M-Net) that put on the festival my son's band (Vanilla Unity) was in last weekend (Time to Rock). At that festival, there were probably a couple thousand people, the music was loud (as expected) and everyone seemed to be having a good time (especially after several 3000-4000 won cups of beer).

Ain't so bad.

Belle & Sebastian would be nice to see if they play old stuff as opposed to the crap they put out now.

Would be keen on Vamp Weekend too.

PSB? I've been waiting 20 years to see them. They've been consistently good, and consistent about not playing in place where I happen to be. I'm there.

Does anyone know what the closest Korail station is from the festival site?

If you mean KTX, the nearest one is in Seoul but that's over an hour away. If subway, the nearest stop is in Yongin which isn't that near either. There isn't one near really. Bus to/from Icheon would be easiest and then bus/taxi to/from the site. The bus from Icheon would cost about 1,000. A taxi would be about 20,000. I live about 5 minutes from the site. If you want any info on how to get there, etc., etc. then shoot me a PM.

Just seen you are in Busan from your first post. There is a bus from Icheon to Busan at 6.40 so one would imagine that it's fairly similar going the other way. Otherwise your only option would be going to Seoul then bus to Icheon (note: the last bus is 10something pm from Express Bus Terminal).

Last year there were shuttle buses to the festival from the last stop on the Bundang line. Hopefully they're doing the same thing this year!

Hmm, this is going to be quite tricky to get to, seeing as I want to be on site ASAP, but I don't finish work in Busan until 4:40.

So there's no way I can get to Seoul until about 8 (by KTX), and then I have to get Bundang to get a shuttle bus to the site. Damn, I'm gonna miss some bands!

I was really hoping for a better lineup. PTB are okay but don't know if I shell out that much to see them. One day ticket for 99,000won and 176,000won for 3 day, going to pass this up....
dang; should of gone last year.
