| Ok I'm sure this has been mentioned, and I could probably find it online if I looked hard enough, but I just need a quick answer. Is it worth it to bring my 360 from America to Korea, and if so will my Live still work? Also, the Green/Blue/Red and Yellow/Red/White cables are the same as would be used on Korean TVs, right? |

| My American Xbox 360 and Live have been working perfectly for 2 years. Just make sure you buy a Step-Up transformer (110v-220) with at least 500 watts. The last thing you want is for your 360 to go up in smoke. |

If he is bringing a US xbox, he wants a step DOWN converter. 220v-110v. This type of information WILL make his xbox go up in smoke. |

If he is bringing a US xbox, he wants a step DOWN converter. 220v-110v. This type of information WILL make his xbox go up in smoke. |

Just wondering, couldn't the OP just go and buy a Korean AC adapter for his 360 and plug it in without worrying about a stepup converter? The power brick should be converting all AC to DC to be used in the actual console.
It should be the power brick that has the 110/220 voltage requirement, not the 360.
If the OP is going to throw down the money for a step up transformer, why doesn't he just simplify everything and just buy the Korean Xbox 360 AC adapter instead?
Also, the power brick is pretty heavy. That is one thing he could just leave at home. |

Not a bad observation, but I'm not going to test your theory on my us box. The transformer/converter is 30Gs or less. The console's quite a bit more, and it's not really that easy to get a new american one once you get here and are trying to settle into a new place. 16.5A showing on back of kor/jap box, 12.1A showing on back of us one. Better way would be probably have someone try a kor box in america and see what happens. Granted, I still don't quite understand the function of the adapter for the xbox 360...is it just a surge protector? OP, you want something like this...

Just thought this needed a bit of an update, especially regarding the power stuff. Today, I brought my US 360 in to have it modded, and the shop owner plugged it in, [s]with no power brick attached[/s]with a Korean power brick attached, without hesitation. No issues. Therefore, the console itself is able to handle 110-220V, maybe 250?
The newer power bricks(12.1A) WILL fry if you don't have them connected to a step-down transformer. [s]Yes, the adaptor alone would work, unless there's a power surge. Then, your box will fry...a bit more costly. Maybe connect everything to a good quality surge-protector extension cord?[/s]

THIS WILL WORK. I know because I bought a 1000W step down and then plugged in my XBOX360 and my US power brick blew out (Thank God it has a built in surge protection). After checking the Step Down converter I realized that they shipped a 100W....
So I just bought a 220V Korean power brick and it works great.
