I want to ask I keep seeing FBI checks. I was wondering if any Australians could inform me of how to get a criminal history check for an Australian??? Is this just done through state police to get Australian-Wide Criminal history check. Also how long before I go to Korea do I need it? does it only last for 6mths or so?

Also do I have to go to sydney to get a copy of my degree and TESOL at the Korean embassy to apply for jobs?

Hey,

I applied six months ago and I'm not sure if things have changed, but this is how it was for me:

-I applied for a CRC at the post office. I filled out a form, paid $60ish dollars, and within a week I received my clearance in the mail. It is only valid for 6 months.
-I believe you need to get your degree apostilled in the state of your university. Not sure on that though - you can call up the apostille office and check.
-I am from Perth so had to get everything signed by a justice of the peace before sending my documents over to Canberra. I had my interview with the consulate via telephone. It took one week from the time I sent my documents.

Good luck.
