I'm placing an order on Gmarket, but I can't think of the proper way to communicate that I'd like the box to be left with the building ajeossi. Last time I ordered, there was all this chaos because I wasn't home for the delivery...

경비실에 주세요 (gyung be shil ju say yo)

| yeah...placing the comment on the gmarket order doesn't always accomplish anything, as the info will go to the seller who isn't going to bother relaying it to the delivery company. they are still gonna call. usually they'll give it to the security guard by default, but if they dont see them, you'll need to give them directions. so be sure to memorize that phrase. |

부재시 경비실에 맡겨주세요
or
경비실에 맡겨주세요
It basically asks the delivery person to give the package to the guard. The "맡겨" means to transfer responsibility. "부재시" basically tells the delivery guy to do this if you are not at home. |

yes, lee myung bak didn't phonetically translate 에 (by accident i assume) |

If you live in a decent apartment with a guard then it's the norm for delivery guy to leave at security if your not home. The security guy will dial your place to see if you're in but if you're not home he'll just take it and make a note in the delivery book.
Don't think it would require a special note on the order. |

This.
I don't see why you would have to give instructions. The post office AUTOMATICALLY gives packages to the security guard if you aren't home (unless the opposite is specified). I'm assuming all other delivery services do the same.
p.s. I just ordered and received a box the other day. A note was waiting in my mailbox. Sure enough, the 켱비아저씨 had it.
But maybe you don't have a security guard. If not, any of the comments will do. |
