No, I'm not jealous. I admit it, I don't know a lot of Korean, it's not a big deal to me. However, at least in my office, when I hear it spoken it is like nails on a chalkboard. I can't explain the feeling I get when I hear it, but I just try to tune it out or turn the volume up in my headphones as loud as I can.
Just one example, when I'm with some foreigners and they answer their phone(obviously knowing the person they are speaking knows English) and they feel compelled to say 'hello' in Korean.
Don't practice your Korean around me! |

i know what u mean. like when they're in a group of other english speakers and they'll throw out a "jinjja??" it's not cute.
also, puns on the word seoul are annoying too. seoul sister, ORIGINAL! seoul seeker, ORIGINAL! seoul man, SO ORIGINAL!!!
sorry, i drank a bunch of hatorade.
but in any case, i understand, they're in a new country, they're in their honey moon phase. wish i could go back to those days. |

I'm afraid my fantasy football team is called 'Ahhhh Seoul', a pun but I quite liked it. |

For me, it depends on how good their Korean is. If they're speaking fluidly or actually holding their own in a conversation, it impresses me... and I get jealous.
If it's a badly-pronounced word or two in the middle of a sentence... annoying as hell. |

Only when the wanks do it on TV to get attention.
In regular situations, I use it too. |

It only bothers me when mispronounced. I couldn't care less about the grammar if communication is achieved. Korean is exceedingly easy to pronounce, so when it's wrong, it's like nails on a chalkboard. Otherwise, why hate? |

um no.
You're just lucky that people you speak with can make out or even guess what you're trying to say. Just because they can do that doesn't mean your pronunciation is ace nor that it is easy.
And if you're claiming that your pronunciation is just that good, unless you studied and lived here for years, I'd like to call BS on that. |
