Long story short...my family member went to America on a trip and bought me the iPad 64G WiFi ($699 + tax) on September 17th, right before Chuseok. I already have the iPhone and after playing around with the iPad, I don't see the point in having both.

I have the receipt and there is an iPad Case ($39.99) and the front and back Ultra Thin Clear Skin ($29.99) that I have not applied yet.

I don't check Dave's too often, so please e-mail me directly at mpls.korean (at) gmail (dot) com and leave me a phone number. If your offer is the highest, and reasonable, then I will call you.

Here is the info. http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MB294LL/A?mco=MTcyMTgwOTM

Hmmm.. $6.99. What's that in Won, W8,000? I guess I could dish that out for an iPad. Consider it sold!!

I love people like you on this site. You make me laugh when I read this type of comment. Do you really expect me to sell a 3 week old iPad for 500? I'd rather keep it. And so since I've had no serious offers, I'm just going to keep it and watch movies on the subway with it.

If you can get someone to bring back an iPad from the States and sell it to you for 500,000 Won, more power to you. As for now, I'll remain one of the few that have one here in Korea ... for the time being anyways until they start selling them here ... which should be in a few months.

If you are serious about selling, well, quote a price. You got coy and thought you might create a bidding war. It didn't happen.

Seriously, a used 64gb wifi Ipad, under a million won definitely, considering that new ones (in box, still in wrap) are being sold at a million or more. Who knows for sure the condition of yours, so why should someone buy it for a million?

Pick a price and say why people should buy it, if you're serious about selling it. Also, it was a gift, so any money you get is profit and you're not losing any money.

Wow, thought 500,000 was a pretty fair offer, to be honest.

I never expected a million won, but I didn't expect half that as a serious bid. Even new, I would only expect like 900,000 because it's not yet sold in Korea...but where did I ever mention anything like one million? Plus...what the he'll do you do to your things that in less than 3 weeks it wouldn't still be like new? Especially with something like an iPad.

And...if someone sold you a 10,000 dollar car, would you settle to sell it at half price because it was free or would you try to get the best / most reasonable price available?

You asked for interested buyers to make an offer, and that's what he did. What's wrong? If you don't want offers, name a price. [/code]

Right. You should be naming a price if you want to scoff at low bids.

Oh, I see, you're hoping for a sucker who thinks the iPad is the latest must have thing and will pay a dream-fantasy price for it....dude....you've already said yourself there's no point in this thing if you have an iPhone......or, may I add, any smartphone.....except.....the iPad can't even make phonecalls!!

And yet another person who likes to speak his mind on eslcafe...and show how ignorant he is.

Actually, "you can use the iPad as a phone with a program called Line2 from the APPLE app store. " (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_the_iPad_call)

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/line2-2-numbers-1-iphone/id319185557?mt=8

As for a sucker...I think that is every seller's hopes and dreams, wouldn't you agree? But I don't call them 'suckers' per se, just people who are willing to pay more for something that they really want. And can you really blame someone for wanting to get a good price on something they are selling?

Are ipads even available yet in Korea?

I haven't seen too many people with them. That makes them more expensive than their sale price, even if it's 3 weeks old. I've had mine for months now and have been offered over a million won for it several times.

Yeah, but it's going to be out here soon anyways so the notion that it is worth much more because of its unavailability is rather moot. Now, if we're talking about this past July, that's another story.

I thought that ipads were technically illegal because they are a device that hasn't been approved yet that has wifi capabilities, some korean assemblyman got in trouble or something similar because he got one from the america and was using it...

Some people don't know the concept of supply and demand. And if the other posts are correct, and the iPads have a long ways to go before being approved here in Korea, then I guess I'll just be happy being one of the few with them.

I seriously doubt any official is going to arrest us for having them, especially seeing that we are foreigners. Those were interesting reads though.
