So i am living in Seoul, Korea and I have a winter break coming up in December 24th until January 9th. That is a huge amount of time and you only love once and i am looking for a travel buddy(s) who wants to go and discover Thailand and Vietnam or some other location. If anyone would like to travel to Thailand or Vietnam and is having a hard time finding someone to go with and they are like me and rather not bum it out alone let's go together maybe. Send me an email at [email protected] if this sounds good to you. We can chat and maybe meet up if you are in Seoul and then make some definite plans. |

You can meet people on the way. Probably will meet someone just like yourself. Great hangout spots are Pai in North Thailand and Koh Lipe in South Thailand. The bigger spots like Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket, Samui may be lonely, but the smaller spots like Pai, Koh Lipe, Koh Pha Ngan will be full of like minded people.
It's not that much time.... Adding Vietnam may be difficult. You have just enough time to see north and south Thailand. Maybe add Luang Phrabang Loas if you want to branch out.
Have fun! |

my advice, go on your own. the beauty about travelling on your own is that you meet people. some you like, some you dont like. hang with the ones you like. another great thing about going solo, you dont have to wait for anyone. you like a place, stay and chill, you dont, move on.
Dont worry about being lonely. Especially at Xmas. The best thing about travelling at Xmas is that every traveller is just like you, not with their family. You can make some very incredible bonds and end up having one of the best Xmas's ever. My take is go to Koh Phangan, do not stay on the full moon beach, but party there and just enjoy yourself and relax.
Book now though...just looked the other day. Tickets are moving fast.

"I would advise a friend to travel alone rather than always in a group. Travelling alone is totally frightening and disorienting but from such disorientation can come valuable insights."
It seemed an advantage to be traveling alone. Our responses to the world are crucially molded by the company we keep, for we temper our curiosity to fit in with the expectations of others. They may have particular visions of who we are and hence may subtly prevent certain sides of us from emerging Being closely observed by a companion can also inhibit our observation of others; then, too, we may become caught up in adjusting ourselves to the companions questions and remarks, or feel the need to make ourselves seem more normal than is good for our curiosity.
Alain de Botton, author of "The Art of Travel." |
