Yesterday afternoon in Seoul, my friend witnessed a construction crane falling off of a 15 story building and crashing onto the ground below. I heard a couple of people died. Talk about sketchy construction!

Here's a pic of the crane mid fall...

I'm trying to find a link to the story but haven't been successful yet. Anyone know more about this?

Stuff like this happens in all countries. People take short cuts and usually get away with it...until they don't.

Yeah, definitely all over the world. What a horrible way to die..

I wonder what inspection is required and if it's required daily?

Check the JoongAng Ilbo tomorrow perhaps. I saw the photo on the front of the Korean version today at lunch, might see an English article on it tomorrow.

The elevated conveyor belts the moving companies use crash fairly often from lack of proper support. You need to look up to stay safe.

What a bummer. When I saw the subject tag, I envisioned a beautiful waterfall which earned its name from the graceful birds that live there.

(Dont laugh at me. There is an artificial waterfall park in Seoul.)

No shock in a country that has such low safety standards. It was bound to happen someday.

To be true a crane landing on your head probably isn't that bad of a way to die.
