ladies,
this is a question for you - well, the pregnant girls, that is.
where do you go for your prenatal check-ups?
do you have a private doctor or are you getting them at a hospital?
is there a significat difference in service, price, care, etc.?
what made you choose the doctor/hospital you are with?
im 6 weeks along now. i wont deliver the baby here, but back at home. i will be leaving korea in two months. however, i would still need to get some check-ups before im leaving.
any advice?
thanks a lot! |

Look for the woman's hospital in your area (or ask your Korean co-workers).
It will be cheaper and more comfortable than a large hospital (more like a clinic with extras). There should be at least one or two English speaking ob/gyns.
You didn't say where you are but as examples, We liked the Samsung womens hospital in Yongtong and the Cheil womans hospital by Seohyun station in Bundang.

Hi there,
Congratulations!
As ttompatz says it depends where you are. I live near Cha hospital in Gangnam and have been going there for all my check ups (I'm nearly 14 weeks). The service so far has been excellent - they have an international clinic which you can go through so all English to make appointments etc but the doctor I'm seeing (Dr Cha) speaks pretty good English anyway.
As for costs I pay roughly 70k per visit (including ultrasound) - a woman I work with (Korean) is also pregnant and seeing Dr Cha and she's paying the same.
Anyway - link here:

Good luck with it all! |

Hi! Congrats!
I agree with ttompatz, find a women's hospital, its way cheaper than an international clinic. On average I pay 22k won per visit and if they request blood work or other stuff it costs a little more. Generally around 50k. I go to Seoul Women's Hospital in Bucheon and they have excellent care.
They like to see you once a month and even give you 3d pics a few times throughout the pregnancy for very cheap, something they don't do in the states unless your high risk. |
