NEWS FLASH: The youtube video is no longer accessible to general viewers, at least at my work and home. Someone has flagged it and it's censored now.

Actually, he demonstrated Korean sticktoitness. If at first you don't succeed, then try and try again. Remember that woman who took the driver's test hundreds of times? And the woman who set herself on fire after failing twice? Really, Koreans don't like to give up a course of action once headed upon. Their children's stories reflect that

Surely there is a malfunction safeguard to turn off this cultural persistence trait (the idea that force can overcome any problem) when it is clear that said ajjoshi is on a path to disaster?

It must be something to do with the mother- son complex somewhere. Throwing down a teddy bear would presumably have the same effect.

Maybe people like the chap in the wheelchair or the old lady on the subway are suffering from Hwabyung Syndrome.

It is on Youtube...in fact, many people have posted the videos. Also, I downloaded it because I figure it will come in handy when I have a crappy day in the future. Seeing that will surely lighten my mood Cool

I have a question-

How is a single guy pulling down his pants in a crowd of thousands representative of a culture's way of thinking and not say, a lone nutcase?

Is the cat lady back home representative of Western culture and thinking? Or is she just a lone nutcase?

What about the guys cutting off their fingers?

Or the guys cutting off the heads of Japanese pheasants outside the Japanese embassy?

I have to say there is to me too something about the adjoishi temperment that says ' I will protest blindy against something I've chosen not to like even if the only outcome is that I hurt myself.'

For better or worse, I'm really not trying to judge and I guess I admire the spirit if in a genuine cause that one truly believes in.

How about the guy who was pissed at the government and decided to burn down Namdaemun? There is a certain hot-headed nature amongst a lot of Korean males, and anger management has never really taken off over here.

Was he mentally handicapped or physically handicapped or both? If he was mentally handicapped it does sap the humor for me...but physically handicapped it is still funny.

The Darwin awards don't make any sense to me. If some girl has a baby before she drops out of high school at 15, 4 more by the time she is 28, is a granny for the second time at 32, and dies in the most insanely stupid way when she is 35....she is an evolutionary success. They should change the name.

You take any country and once a month some nutball is going to do some nutball act.

What were there no nutballs who did nutball stuff back home?

Now, I will say that this in no way diminishes the amusing nature of the video. This rightly deserves the attention it gets.

I downloaded it (and the subway fight scene) because I knew they'd keep getting censored.

I've been wondering - perhaps he wasn't pissed that he missed the elevator so much as being pised that the woman ahead of him hit the button to close the door on him.

Sure, but the extremes of other countries show an entirely different mindset.

You don't get a German neo-nazi defiantly exposing his y-fronts to the world and thinking it'll force everyone to take him seriously.

Are you honestly trying to saythat there are no nutters in Germany doing nutty things?
