I avoid soda, though when I have a stomachache, I drink flat Coca Cola.
I avoid ddeok poki, unless I'm feeling naughty and know I'll be hitting the bike early. |

Potato Chips
Before coming here I loved 'em, but never ate more than one bag. In my first hagwon, kids would buy snacks in the shop we had downstairs and share their chips with me...
Now if I smell them I think I will puke |

I don't eat samgyupsal anymore. Just can't deal with the fat. I agree about instant coffee, and gum. |

Sugarless gum is a good way to clean the molars when you don't have a toothbrush on you (out to eat). |

Sesame oil, it gives me the runs for some reason. Pretty much any extremely "oily" food does it though, my gut has a low tolerance for lipids I guess. But I can eat samgyupsal as long as I only dip it in the red stuff. If I dip it in the sesame oil it will have me running to the bathroom within the hour.
I also had to avoid eating too much acidic food because it gave me heartburn. Hard to do in Korea since nearly everything is pickled in vinegar. |

I've been avoiding beer. If there's any in the fridge I will drink it. Doesn't matter how much; it'll be gone. I gained a bit of weight over the summer holidays since it was too bloody hot to do anything other than sit on the couch and drink cold beer. Luckily snowboarding season is on the way when I'm inclined to drink my alcohol warm or hot and spend much of my time on the local slopes. |

I can't stand Korean instant coffee. Also Any time I drink Korean beer it makes me nauseous, no matter how much of it I drink it still makes me sick. |

I don't like beer, but my friends find that when they drink Korean beer on tap here, it makes them sicker than if they'd eaten some 3-day-old Wendy's chili that hasn't been refrigerated. The pipes aren't cleaned out the same way (or as often from what we've learned from bar workers) as back in the UK (or the USA, I'm assuming). |

Yep would have to guess they don't clean the lines often or ever. I also heard they add water to the beer on tap here which might not make me sick but adds to why the beer is horrible. |

I avoid foods I don't feel like eating at the moment. Which means I almost never eat cake left in the teacher's lounge or chips offered to me by students.
I should avoid dairy and I did for a long time, but I am menstruating and felt a desperate need for strawberry milk. So that's out the window. |
