This is not a hate posting, but what's up with the near worshiping here in South Korea of this dead Hwang guy? Where I come from you don't put such a guy on a pedestal who: is a commie leader(or was a commie leader); then becomes a traitor; then leaves his wife and kids (knowing that there is a strong likelihood that they will be killed as a result) and moves to another country; then commits adultery by marrying his secretary (almost 40 years younger than him). |

He's only the highest ranking NK defector. I wouldn't call it worshiping. The news about him is similar to a high profile senator that dies.
The Democratic Labor Party and the New Jinbo Party hated the guy since he put a damper on their utopian visions about NK. Read a left leaning paper if you want the opposite view of him. |

Yes, maybe it is not worshiping, but nonetheless I think the story should have been buried somewhere on page three perhaps. |

Seeing how senior North Korean leaders read South Korean newspapers, maybe part of the reason was for propoganda. They see a defector being propped up and being treated with great reverance/respect it may encourage them to think, "Hey, going to South Korea wouldn't be so bad." |
