I'm just speechless right now. About most of this paragraph really.

You don't think men want to be treated like the apple of your eye as well? THIS is why chivalry died: women expected men to always be at their beck and call, and they did not reciprocate.

Put yourself in his shoes and think about the man sometimes...the good ones do it for you everyday. We aren't robots.

I treat my girlfriend like a princess and she also gets to show off and brag, but I demand reciprocity (however I don't reciprocate the "OMG look at the sweet tie my girlfriend bought me! Aren't you soooo jealous?")

Also, women make as much as men nowadays, so it isn't fair for the man to always pay for dinner so the woman can buy a Prada bag.

Agreed.

Reciprocity is not a dirty word. Some people seem to forget that. Any relationship that is not balanced, will sink sooner or later - fact. Whether or not there is a culture clash here is irrelevant. A lack of balance is laziness. That is all.

Sexual equality > Chivalry.

Rolling Eyes Ditto.

Ah, yes, feminism. Causing the breakdown of modern society. 100 years ago, women didn't have the right to vote. They couldn't go to college and study much of anything besides teaching or nursing because they weren't considered intelligent enough. They couldn't play sports. Their husbands could legally beat them and abuse them.

Feminism is the reason women can vote, hold political office, go to college and study a subject of their own choice, go to work and have the legal right to be paid as much as their male counterparts. It's the reason women don't have to be dependant on a man to support them financially. It's the reason they don't have to put up with abuse because they have no choice.

I'm sure there are women out there who are happy to submit to their husbands. I prefer my relationship to be a partnership. I do not need or want decisions to be made for me. I prefer to have a say over what happens in my home and my life. I don't think respecting a woman's opinion or intelligence is a bad thing or that it will lead to the "breakdown" of the family unit. Personally, I think the only people who are complaining about the evils of feminism are right-wing fundamentalists who think they have the right to power over others because they are white and have penises.

Ok, rant over. Smile

Femanism to me is the statement made by my lecturer at Uni when I stated that Femanism is about equality between the sexes.

She said that "femanism is not about women being treated equally, its about women having greater rights than men and only when women have greater rights than men will they truly be equal".

She was pretty hard core in the feminism issue. She also thought that husbands/boyfriends should pay thier partners if they wanted to have sex.

I could never understand how she couldn't understand that was basically calling women prostitutes.

LOL. Live-in prostitutes. Awesome! Would she get jealous when I frequented other prostitutes whom I didn't live with?

Amen brother. Amen.

I treat my gf like gold and she reciprocates 2 fold. If she didn't reciprocate like many of my ex girlfriends my eyes would wander and the relationship would be over after the sex got a bit dull.

Also, I'm not trying to rag on Korean men here but according to the Korean women I know (aged 26-32) Korean men treat Korean women like absolute gold until marriage. After the deal is sealed around age 28-30 all of that princess treatment goes out the door. This is changing mind you but it happened to all of my gf's girlfriends. Family obligations get locked in, the guy puts his mind entirely on making money for the family etc etc. This happens back in the west too though but I don't think it is exactly like one extreme to the other so quickly. It is one of the reasons why my gf is scared of marrying a Korean man. She has seen to many horror stories in the last 4 years.
