I haven't been able to find the macbook pro cords! Is it the one with the smaller port? If so, I'll BUY a brand new macbook cord for you and trade! (I currently use my older macbook as my media center, but would like the option of using my pro).

There is no difference between a macbook pro and macbook (unibody white) display port. They both use the mini display port standard.

To connect to your tv you need a Mini display port to hdmi adapter (apple does not sell them, but there are third parties who do, check on ebay or wherever, super easy to find).

Apple DOES sell the mdp to dvi adapter as well as teh mdp to vga adapter.

I have an adapter for my macbook. It doesn't fit my macbook pro. They have different port sizes. My macbook is 3 years old. My macbook pro is a few months old. I bought it in the US, then when I got here and went to plug it in, realized that the port size is different. Same little picture above the port, different size. I haven't been able to find the cord here.

Apple DOES sell mini display port cords. They don't use standard sizing (as in all other PCs).

The older Macbooks use Apple Mini DVI (up to 2008 models)

http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9321G/B?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTA4NDU1MTM

The 2009+ Macbooks and mac book pro (unibody) use the mini display port:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY#overview.

There is a whole range of connection for VGA (for your LCD TV ect), DVI and S video.

However there have been reported issues of these cable not working with some products unless you restart the computer with the TV or projector attached (unlike the old macbook where you could plug it in and use immediately).

Do not confuse these connections with the Micro DVI connections which are only for the Macbook Air.

Exactly.

Anyway, I'll buy you what you need for the pro cord. I've had trouble finding it here.
