Hi all,
I'm currently living in Israel, but am an American citizen. I was hoping to go straight from Israel to Korea... is it possible to have my dad and my university send all the documentation needed in? Is there anything I absolutely need to show up somewhere in the US in person to get? |

You can get likely get the documents you need while you are abroad (the apostilled diploma and FBI CRC are the main ones). However, if you have never had a E-2 visa in the past, you will likely need to go back to the US to have your "home country" interview done.
If you had an E-2 in the past, your are golden, it is just a matter of time, paperwork and mailings. |

| I applied from Australia for jobs in Korea. I am an American Citizen and it was my first time getting an e-2 visa. I was a pain and very expensive getting all of the documents together especially the criminal checks but I did it without having to come back to the states. I could get my visa from Australia though, I had to travel to bangkok before coming to korea to get my work visa. So it is entirely possible but it would have been massively easier if I had just gone home and gathered the paperwork. |
