to apartment trashing (that WAS a joke right? He knew the schedule before he signed the contract so why punish the school?)
This advice only applies IF the boss is a tyrant paying derisory wages- if not, then leave the apartment in good condition.
If they are going to overwork me then screw em. I'm out the door in a few months anyways.

Thanks for listening to me rant guys
Hang on a sec: you love the hogwan boss but he is overworking you? Just how many hours are you teaching per week? If the boss is nice, then leave on good terms - if not, then a midnight run and a good ole apartment trashing are in order. I reiterate however that this only applies if your boss is a tyrant - you seem to be sending out mixed messages.

I make 2.4mil a month which is decent. Health and Pension is all being paid. I am not sending out mixed messages. My boss is nice. It is just that the work schedule is not suited to my lifestyle. I teach around 35 hours a week, 5 hours is paid overtime.

I just hate split shifts, having no life, sleeping in the afternoons, getting only 4 hours of sleep a night, always feeling tired, etc.

Totally agree Chollian. (Except on the apartment trashing)

If the hagwon owner is overworking you and treating your poorly, just find a job in another country and leave the day after payday.

If you took this job knowing it was splits and the hours involved. Find another job and then give 30 days notice.

Don't trash the apartment guys. Let's try to not sink to their level.

Or just be sane and hand in and work notice and then get a LOR and another job in Korea if you want to stay here.

~ Split shifts suck but if you are really keen to earn a good buck then they are awesome ...
I did split shift for 6 months with EC when they used to rotate every 3 months Split to reg hours... I wanted to stay on split cause I picked up an extra job during my break... was great and still had time to play tennis for a couple of hours and then a nap then back to work. I got a lot done in that 6 months... It was hard getting up so early at the start.. but so nice to get so much done in the day! ^^

it's a mixed bag, you get to teach adults and not annoying kids but the hours are horrendous. that's why i balked at any of those split shift gigs. my hagwon sucks but at least i'm somewhat rested for another day of work.

Got a job in another country in Asia, so I will be leaving Seoul November 15th. Sad, really because I love Korea but I hate the job. I don't want to go through the hassle of paying everything back and so that leaves me to do a midnight run in the middle of November.

Peace out
