|
|
I do not have time for music anymore, and I must sell my Martin DR.
It is made of laminated rosewood back and sides, solid spruce top, single-band herringbone rosette, black bindings, tortoise-colored pick guard, and satin finish.
The original list price of this guitar is $1245 US. However, this model with pure Rosewood has been discontinued, and is very rare and incredibly hard to find.
Martin is an American guitar company. They are one of the top manufacturers. This guitar is what is called a Dreadnought Style. This means it isn't as small as the standard sized acoustic but it isn't as big as the full concert size. Martin was THE company that actually invented Dreadnoughts. As a result they have phenomenal quality builds of that style. This particular guitar is made of Rosewood. This is part of what makes it so expensive. Rosewood is a semi rare wood. Rose wood changes the resonance of the string vibration and creates a much bigger sound. Sme guitars have rosewood in them but this guitar is mostly all rosewood. The only exception are a fews other parts like the fingerboard and the top (which is Spruce). The entire guitar has a semi laminate coating that provides great protection while also not deadening the sound like full laminate coatings.
You can see the pictures and great reviews about it here:
http://www.music123.com/Guitars/Acoustic-Guitars/6-String-Acoustic-Guitars/DR-Dreadnought-Acoustic-Guitar.site7prod514704.product
Here is a quote about the guitar:
"The DR is the rosewood back and sides version of the DM. Carefully hand-selected tonewoods, master craftsmanship and beautiful finishes and styles make Martin acoustics a class all their own, and must be played to be believed."
I am also including:
GHS airport locking case: This is the best case you can buy for this guitar. The case has had some wear and tear but it does the job and is built like a tank. They go for about $200 in the states.

Fishman drop in pickup: This is also one that was discontinued. It is one of the best pickups you can find for it. It has barely any use and is like new condition. New they run about $125-$150.

Tascam Guitar Memory Trainer: They run about $175-$200. It can use mp3's and it is quite an interesting device. Here is the link:

Ebony Pegs: Pegs made of Ebony wood that usually come on only extremely high end guitars, because they don't get stuck as easy when you change out strings. I even have extras in the case in case one or two ever get lost.
Miscellaneous: Lifetime guaranteed capo, various cables, tuner, glass slide, sound hole cover, and a bottle of special wood polish from the Martin factory.
Keep in mind that Martin guitars are ULTRA rare here. Anything in music equipment I have seen here is at least 2 times more expensive than the states. I have seen almost every piece of equipment listed here for outrageous prices in music stores in Seoul. What is more I have never seen a Martin here before.
The value for everything here in the states is more than $1,800. I have no idea how much more this would be if you could find it in Korea. I am asking for 1.2 mil won. I am located down south near Busan. I will give a discount if you are in or near Busan, but I am willing to come to Seoul or anywhere else to deliver and exchange.
As a side note I am willing to trade ( or include in a deal for) for a motorcycle (not scooter!) of 125 CC's or more.
I believe that is all the info. Please PM me with any questions or offers. Please include your email within your PM. |

You don't have time for music? That's so depressing!
I am interested. I will be recording an EP soon and could do with a decent second guitar.
How old is it?
Do you have any pics of it other than that store pic of the model?
I am keen |

Yeah, out of my three hobbies: photography, playing guitar, and traveling around Korea, I found I only have time and money for two.
One has to go, and I hate to part with this beauty, but I need to re-invest the funds into more photography equipment and a bike so I can travel around more easily.
The guitar is about 8 years old. They stopped making this model in '02 I believe in favor of producing more cost-effective versions with lower quality wood.
One thing about wooden guitars is that most of the time they get more expensive with age. An off the shelf wood guitar won't have the quality of sound as one that has had five or more years for the wood to "set" in.
I was using this post to gauge interest, or see if it would be better just to sell it for more back in the States, but I don't really want to go through the trouble. (There are new laws now for shipping items with rare wood, this includes guitars).
I will definitely upload some pics tonight when I get back home.
Please post or PM any more questions. |

I apologize about the delay in getting the pictures up. It was much too dark in my apartment to get good shots, so I took them this morning.
I have gone over the guitar extensively and taken photos of anything less than brand new condition. You can check below the picture for any comments or additional information.
It's in overall excellent shape, and the sound is amazing. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Greetings: I bought this guitar last November and truly love it. Martin's are legendary and it's not hype. However, got my eye on a new gal(acoustic/electric) and need the coin to make her mine. Please hurry. She's leaving soon.
I will include everything listed in the and would like to get what I paid(1mil.) or somethin very, very close!
I'm in Jeolla-Gwangju, -but I'm willing to meet anywhere in the ROK.
