Have been told by ex girlfriends that I

A. Have a body like a greek statue

B. Am actually 'beautiful' rather than just handsome.

C. I have a face like a cupid.

Seriously. I've overheard women say that they wont go and talk to me because I'm better looking than them or that I must be gay. I've met dates, well scrubbed up and dressed and when they have arrived with friends, heard them mutter under their breaths to their friend 'My God he looks stunning.'

Sadly this was all in my mid twenties and years of smoking and drinking have dimmed somewhat my once brightly shining lights.

I showed a female friend a picture of me when I was 25 (oh the youthful ruddiness in my cheeks, the burning brightness in those impossibly deep blue eyes, the golden hair which seemed alive with some mythical fire! The angelic - literally bloody angelic - freshness to the face!) and she looked at me (at that time I was 28 and had been heavily drinking and smoking during the three interceeding years and was also suffering from a broken heart) and a pitiful glint shone in her eyes and she said 'My god you were beautiful! What happened to you?'

A cautionary tale for anyone out there thinking it's cool to smoke and drink. If you haven't started already- don't bother unless life is so bad that you have no hope of ever finding anyone to love anyway.

At 34 I still look okay when I am booze free and cut down on the cancer sticks.

An old flame met me in Itaewon a few months back and I complained that I look older now and she replied that 'you look better, more matured. You look as good as a juicy well cooked t-bone steak, I want to eat you up..'

She came accross as a bit needy though so I turned her down.

Most people wont believe a word I've just written I guess but it's all true true true.

No, an Adonis would be darker skinned and haired, more muscular, broader shouldered and taller, manlier man than me.

I'm more the slim, toned, blonde and blue eyed, medium height, fresh faced type.

I've been compared to James Dean often both in looks, style and general, at times, slightly moody / mysterious / broody aura (he was better looking by far imo.)

Well NYC_GAL, coincidently today is the day I begin to try and stop the daily boozing and the smoking and perhaps, if I am fortunate - I will regain some of the loveliness I once had once the body is detoxed.

It will be tough and I know I will need an new outlet and a positive, creative outlook on life to find ways to deal with it when it is not going 100% well which of course is when one tends to lean on our old friends Master Smokey Esq and Dr boozehound.

I have the outlook starting up and I have decided I will go to my huge box of books and pick out my favorite short novella or short story and begin adapting one for a screenplay. Not in any hope to actually have it produced or anything, just to occupy me in the evenings or quiet times at weekends when friends are busy etc and to give me something to focus on and a sense of pride. And, well, just like I said - a new outlet.

I'll also buy some nice coffees and green teas for home to enjoy and hopefuly the enjoyment in those and the enrgy they help me regain will spur me onwards and upwards! And some nice cheeses from E-mart and some olives (I l.o.v.e Olives to death) to counter the nightly cravings. Must watch my consumption of those though in order to remain slim...

Lol this is turning into quite the blog! I wont start a blog though as my life isn't interesting enough to warrant one!

I'm really confused by what "average" is. Like even scale systems (1-10) I don't know if 7 is supposed to be average like with school grades or if 5 is average. Not to mention I'm sure my comparative appearance varies. Like I'm not comparatively as attractive in Seoul as I am in Boise and Jeju is probably in between.

But good on you and your, umm, confidence.

I'm like Happy Clappy except I have what he once had. I've had people often become intimidated by my looks, my tall, lean muscularity, even claim there's no way I could be single, or must be gay. I don't even like wearing clothes that are too slim because I feel like people will be intimidated by my body and feel bad about themselves. I've been hit on by just about every kind of person you can imagine and asked to do professional modeling. I frequently find women staring at me as I walk by, sitting in a class, at work. It's strange. But I don't smoke or drink so I doubt there's any way I'll lose my shine. Laughing

After having read your story about the girl calling you Brad Pitt I think we need to have some kind of gentlemanly one-upsman's contest, like this

except about Koreans. Who's got my cigar?

I would love nothing more. I would love to compete as to which celebrity very drunk girls have likened us to. I've also had Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio. As you can see by my photos, there is nothing to disagree with them about in any example.
