Alright, I lost my phone sometime today. Maybe in the cab... maybe in the subway... I don't know.
Called phone no answer (multiple times)
Contacted cab company gave work # they will call if they find it.
Called lost and found for line #1 they will call if they find it.
Called local police they will call if they find it.
Also tried to go by local LG office to try to get a bill to find numbers... they didn't help or didn't understand.. hard to tell.. then got phone turned off. My Korean sucks but apparently they understood that..
Little tired... got about 2 weeks before I go back to the U.S. on a 2 month vacation. Then coming back. Any suggestions on getting the numbers? Was thinking they would be on phone bill, but I was unable to get one. Lots of people in that phone that I don't have internet contacts for.. would hate to lsoe them.. well any suggestions are always appreciated.
P.S. I'm rambling.. long day.. plus lost found.. >_<
P.P.S. I get to go eat endless shrimp at red lobsters O.o |

Get a new one. Most lost cell phones end up sold on the black market. It is very rare to get a good citizen to return a lost cell. Live and learn. |

Look for it.
Buy a new one... Hopefully you have your contacts written down somewhere else... Otherwise it is easy to loose people... |

i made a post about this like a week ago
i lost my iphone in a taxi
rang and rang no-one ever picked up
i unbelievably had insurance [no idea how or why] so currently halfway through that whole process.
two things;
1. insurance process is an insane hassle
2.no phone means you're a hermit |

Where do you get that idea from? Since the vast majority of phones here are all registered to a user, you can't get service unless you are the registered owner of the phone. That is why you have to bring ID and sign duplicates and triplicates of contracts when you sign up. If you lose your phone all you have to do is cancel the service/report it, and nobody will be able to register that phone again.
And rare to have a cellphone returned? Not at all. Myself and several people I know have lost phones and have all had them returned. Some taxi drivers charge a fee to bring it back, some reasonable, some a little rich. Cheaper and less inconvenient than buying a new phone though. I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting your phone back if you lose it in Korea.
FYI, if you ever FIND a phone, the best thing to do is bring it to the nearest telecom store (SKT, KTF, LG et al). They can look up the owner and arrange to get it back to them with no extortion and no hassle to you. |

I ended up just getting a cheap phone to replace it. Well, my old phone was cheap as well and 2 years old. Then I went to an LG store asked for my call history (they must record who you call/text to bill you). This gave me record of all my outbound calls/texts. However, there is no way to get your inbound call record. This only goes back 3 months.
After that, I just picked numbers, and I started asking hello. Who is this? It was a fun couple of hours lols.
Wrote down my numbers in a private google document. Now.. I have record if it ever happens again.
That's what I tried folks and it worked. Hopefully, my phone comes back soon, but I would be breaking appointments if I did not have it. That is unacceptable. Getting another is cheap and painless. <100k won. |

I left my phone in a taxi and the guy rung every number till he found my boss.
Returned the next day for 30k. My phone is povo though, I doubt I would've been so lucky had it been an iPhone/Galaxy S etc.. |

Absolute bull.
I've lost my phone and had it returned twice, my girlfriend once and one of my co-workers FIVE times. |
