I have a job offer in both Busan and in metro Seoul. I'm completely unsure of which to take. The jobs seem equal in terms of school + contract. Will living in Busan mean always wanting to get into Seoul? How's Busan for music and libraries etc.?

I have been living in Busan for 2 years and don't really fancy Seoul too much. Visited there enough and it is too big city for me. Not that Busan is no small town, it just has more going for it in terms of natural surroundings. Seoul is still fun the the odd time though for shopping and the odd event, and it is only a short three hour trip away, but I just tend to have more fun in Busan. In terms of music, Seoul is probably better. The Hongdae area has a really good arts community that has some interesting bands, but Busan has its share there are some pretty cool foreigner bands and hang outs in Busan. Also there is one OK sized English library called The Global Village right on a subway line. I mostly have some books I brought from home to keep me busy. There is also some book exchange programs around you can get involved with. There are tons of threads on this sort of debate so run a search.

I live in Busan and have been to Seoul.

I thought I would love Seoul but it's just too huge. It's a mega city and, while it has heaps of personality, it's also confusing and exhausting just to move from A to B. The subway is like a bowl of noodles. Busan is sceninc, and still a big city, taking about an hour and a half in total to get across on the subway (not that you ever have to do that). It has great beaches, good shopping, it's close to Japan... and if you want to go to Seoul it's only a few hours away on the KTX. Plus it's easier to get a job here.
