anyone who has a notice of appointment for a public school can usually get around the 3rd country rule for a first E-2.
I got mine in Japan and I had never even stepped foot in Korea before except for 2 days in Busan.
Hagwons are a different story... |

If it's your first E-2, you definitely can't. You have to get your first E-2 done in your home country. . |
that;s what the supposed rules are but I know 1 person who had their first E2 issued in Thailand about 6 months ago..... I think it's all a bit hit and miss though. |

Going back to what a previous poster mentioned about showing the embassy your original diploma. Why would you need to do that?
Once immigration have processed your paperwork and given you the visa issuance number, then I was under the impression that all you'd need to take to the embassy is your passport, passport photos, visa number, money, and then fill out an application form. That's more or less what I did when I went to the embassy in Osaka a few years back.
Am I missing something here?
I will try to contact one of the embassies here, and ask them whether they're able/willing to issue an E2 visa, and how long it will take them. I guess it's going to be a case of hit or miss indeed. |

OP,
Checking in to see whether you were actually able to organize your E2 from Italy? |
