I've been offered a job and am being pressured by the recruiter to sign and return it. I do not have my CBC yet and the contract has no dates!

Is there something I am missing? Is it common practice to sign a contract without having all necessary docs in hand and to send the signed contract back to the recruiter without dates of employment?

Question

Unless they are able to proceed with the (visa) paperwork it is meaningless.

Just curious, why in the heck is this guy pressuring me like this? Is he going to get paid because he has a signed contract in hand or when I get there?

I think its time to move on to a new recruiter.

Yes, he gets paid when you sign on the line which is dotted. The coffee is for closers.
