This month I went a bit nuts buying pearls. Lots and lots of pearls. Triple strands, double strands, black with peacock shimmer, white, and all with knots. Glorious glorious pearls.
Last month it was sweaters.
Oh, and always cheese and wine.
You? |

I'd say in Korea, hair accessories, shoes, and scarves. I go to Pyeong Hwa Market in Dongdaemun and come very close to exploding with excitement! |

Black powder firearms. I not long ago won the bid on an 1864 .69 cal. Whitneyville Plymouth, which will be waiting for me the next time I visit my family home. I hope to have a .50-70 Remington rolling block, too, by that time. |

Diamonds. Can't get enough of them; pink, crazy, you name it.
Jousting sticks; bit hard to fit in the overhead luggage though in the airplane.
Shortbread biscuits.
Coffee. |

Cheese and wine, mostly. Fois gras and pate when available, but that's not so much an issue in Korea. |

Jewelry is so much fun to shop for. It always fits!
Shoes and bags are next best.
Clothes shopping here looks like it could be fun if I could stick to my diet. Right now it's hit or miss.
Where's the best place for buying pearls in Korea? |

Books. Luckily they are few and far between in this land, but if I visit What the Book I can easily fill my rucksack.

Expensive fresh juices, blocks of cheese, bags of Starbucks coffee beans, bottles of cognac, and jars of natural peanut butter. |

I have always been curious about black powder guns. Seems like they have their own little niche out there. Are you a hunter, a marksmen or just a collector Bluelake? |

Best quality? Best prices?
If it's the former, I've always been partial to Mikimoto's. They are expensive, but they are positively radiant. Plus their sales staff is very knowledgable and will give you lessons in spotting the good stuff and tips for caring for your pearls (pearls go on last and are the first to come off). Have them explain the Mikimoto pearl pyramid to you. Here's a blog from a lady that went to the Mikimoto store in the Galleria Dept. store:
http://www.karipearls.com/cost-of-mikimoto-pearls.html
The cheapest pieces I've seen from them start around $200 for simple pearl earrings.
Now for pretty decent, but much more affordable pearls, I think Costco is actually a pretty good deal. |
