I keep reading that you need 2 copies of transcripts to apply for a lot of the jobs I see posted.
Does immigration really need two copies of sealed transcripts?
I think I only submitted one last time. Maybe employers want to look at one copy themselves? |

| I've always heard 2 copies. You should probably stock up on a few extras just in case you get here and decide to change jobs. You might need more again. |

As far as I know you don't need transcripts. Unless they have reverted to the old requirements.
Many recruiters are too lazy to update their websites and are giving the wrong advice.
When you have an immigration service that keeps switching around its requirements.. its hard to keep up. |

i was told to get 3.
one to send to korea, one to send to the korean consulate in england. and one just in case it was needed when i arrived.
it cost �10:00 for each one as well.
the cost of paperwork really adds up.
i now need another set of photos as well. i paid for a set of 5 to send to korea and have been told i need a set of 6 for when i arrive. |

| Get some extra photos printed while you're at it. You never know when you're gonna need an extra one for an ID card at your workplace, the gym, the swimming pool, or some other unexpected reason. |

wow, so instead of shelving the old requirements they've kept them but also added the new ones.
Thus any new applicant needs more paperwork than for an esl job in any other country on the planet. You need less clearance to become a NASA astronaut. And lets remember, folks, the whole process can result in disaster the minute your recruiter casually throws your docs in the bin and then denies all knowledge of them.
lets get this right:
...>>a Korean E2 applicant now needs:
*10 passport photos
*original degree
*copy of original degree, notarised and apostilled, not more than 6 months previous, stapled together by govt. official, retaining original staples.
*original national CRC, notarised and apostilled, not more than 6 months old, stapled together by official, retaining original staples, containing no criminal record or misdemeanour of any kind.
*3 official transcripts, sealed with university seal, not more than 6 months old. (The act of opening of which instantly renders them invalid).
*Two letters of reference
*Scanned copy of passport page
*two copies of resume
*Copy of signed contract
* Medical self-assesment form,to be followed by full medical test within 3 months.
* A letter with full details and contact numbers of activities and adresses undertaken while in Korea (for those apply for E2 in-country while on a tourist visa). |

GEPIK/EPIK however still want to see them. |

I've always came here on a tourist visa and applied in-country for the E-2. No such letter was ever requested. |

When transcripts were required, Immigration never accepted transcripts that weren't issued within the last six months. |

My last two E2 visas have come after sending transcripts over a year old.
And for the OP, I got my visa towards the end of Sept. Had to send one copy of my transcripts to Korea and another one to the consulate in my own country. |

Maybe so, but technically you were meant to have them issued within the last six months. |
